AISI 4130 steel has high static strength, impact toughness, and high fatigue limit. The hardenability is higher than that of 41Cr4 steel, and it has high creep strength and tensile strength at high temperatures. It can work for a long time in a temperature environment of 500 ℃; During cold deformation, the plasticity is moderate and the weldability is poor. AISI 4130 round bar is used to produce important structural components that work under high loads, such as transmission components for vehicles and engines; The rotor, main shaft, heavy-duty transmission shaft, and large section parts of a steam turbine generator.

AISI 4130 steel has medium strength, 4130 steel tensile strength is approximately 560-700 MPa. And it has good toughness and good load-bearing capacity under high stress conditions. After heat treatment, AISI 4130 steel can be obtained with different hardness levels to meet the needs of different applications. Compared with other alloy steels, AISI 4130 steel has better welding properties. It can be welded by conventional welding methods, such as arc welding, gas shielded welding, etc.

Can the 4130 material hardness reach 58-62HRC after heat treatment?
AISI 4130 is equivalent to the China grade 30CrMo. It belongs to alloy structural steel.
AISI 4130 round bar is mainly used in heat treated and quenched or normalized conditions, and has good strength and toughness. Under normal conditions, the hardness cannot reach 58-62HRC.
If high hardness is indeed required, high-frequency quenching or carburizing treatment can be attempted, but it is difficult to achieve a hardness of 58-62HRC.

What are the AISI 4130 steel equivalent grades?
