36NiCrMo16 is a nickel chromium molybdenum alloy steel, which is defined as self hardening, that is, it presents a hardening structure (Martensite), used for simple air cooling, and has fatigue resistance and torsion resistance. Resilient in low temperature environments. Usually supplied in a spherical annealed state.

- 36NICRMO16/1.6773 Steel Heat Treatment:
Soft annealing: Heat to 650-680oC and slowly cool. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 269.
Normalizing: Temperature: 850-880oC.
Hardening: Hardening at temperatures of 835-865oC, 855-885oC, followed by oil or quenching.
Tempering: 550 – 650 ℃
- 36NICRMO16/1.6773 steel forging:
Thermoforming temperature: 1050-850oC.
