30CrNiMo8+QT Material

Introduction and Application of 30CRNIMO8, 1.6580, 30NCD8QT Alloy Special Steel:

30CrNiMo8 material belongs to hardenable alloy structural steel. It has the characteristics of high elasticity and strength, mainly used for heavy-duty components, with a small diameter of up to 1560N/mm2. After softening, the hardness reaches its maximum value. Another characteristic is that it can resist variable loads and impacts. This material is not suitable for welding and requires additional preheating in the end. 30CrNiMo8 heavy-duty components, shafts and drive shafts, steering shafts, engine crankshafts, screws and components.

Heat treatment process
The heat treatment process is an important processing step for 30CrNiMo8+QT steel, and the optimal mechanical and physical properties can be obtained through a reasonable heat treatment process. Common heat treatment processes include normalizing, tempering, quenching and tempering, etc. The appropriate heat treatment process can be selected according to specific needs.

  • Soft annealing: Heat to 650-700 ℃ and slowly cool. This will result in a maximum Brinell hardness of 248.
  • Standardization: Temperature: 850-880℃.
  • Sclerosis: Harden at a temperature of 830-880℃ and then perform oil quenching.
  • Tempering: Tempering temperature: 540-680℃.

 

30CrNiMo8 / EN1.6580 steel is usually delivered in two common delivery conditions:

1. Annealed (A) 1.6580 steel
2. Quenched and Tempered (QT) 1.6580 Steel
