Products Description
H11 alloy steel is often used for highly stressed structural parts such as aircraft landing gear.
Some typical applications: Hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling.
The tools produced from H11 chromium hot-work steels can be cooled using water without damage as these steels have low carbon and alloy contents.

Forging of AISI H11 Tool Steel
AISI H11 alloy steels are forged at 1121°C (2050°F). For this type of steels, forging below 899°C (1650°F) is not preferable.
AISI H11 Tool Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing
Anneal at 871°C and slow cool at 4.4°C per hour or less in the furnace.
Tempering
Temper at 537°C to 648°C for Rockwell C hardness of 54 to 38. Double tempering for one hour each time at the selected tempering temperature is recommended.
