SKD6/H11/T20811/1.2343/4Cr5MoSiV Hot working die steel is mainly used for processes such as punching, stretching, bending, cold extrusion, cold heading, wire rolling, and bending of metal or non-metallic materials. Therefore, it is required that the W.1.2343 mold has high strength, high wear resistance, and sufficient toughness to ensure its service life. W. 1.2343 type steel is widely used as a universal cold working mold in mass production.
1.2343 Mold Steel Characteristics:

Heat Treatment of 1.2343/H11 steel
Annealing: 750 to 800ºC, slow cooling in furnace (10-20ºC/hr), down to 600ºC, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 230 HB.
Stress relieving: 600 to 650ºC, slow cooling in furnace. Hold in neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2hours.
Hardening: 1000 to 1040ºC, oil/air, hold 15 to 30 minutes. Hardness , 52 to 56 HRC in oil, 50 to 54 HRC in air.
Tempering: 560 to 580ºC. Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper at least twice. The second tempering temperature shall be approx. 30ºC lower than the first tempering.

Purity: According to ASTM E45 method A, A sulfide ≤ 0.5, B oxide, C silicate, and D spherical oxide ≤ 1 each, or DIN 50602-K1 ≤ 10 or according to customer requirements.
Steel factory condition: softened and annealed, with good microstructure, with a maximum hardness of 229HB or quenched and tempered to meet customer requirements.
Application status: 30-53HRC.
Ultrasonic inspection:
ASTM A388-FBH max.3mm (1/8inch) or SEP 1921-test group3-classE/e or as per customer requirements.
