Products Description

1.2721 is the material grade of alloy steel for cold working tools in Germany. It is impact resistant steel. It belongs to DIN 17350 standard. Digital grade material number 1.2721. The metal steel grade W-Nr 50NiCr13 is a kind of die steel, which is used for extrusion die and hot casting die. Such as aluminum production, aluminum cutting mold.

 

1.2721 Physical properties of tool steel

Density: 7.85kg/m3

Forging ratio: 5:1 minimum

Mechanical properties of alloy steel 1.2721

Hardness: annealing 250 HB max, Q+T: 57-62 HRc, different tempering temperatures and different hardness.

 

1.2721 Heat treatment of cold working tool steel

 

Annealing: annealing temperature/℃: 610-650; Hardness after annealing ≤ HBS: 250

Quenching: hardening temperature/℃: 840~870, oil quenching or air quenching

Tempering: common drawing temperature/℃: 160~300; Hardness after tempering HRC | 100 ℃: 59; Hardness after tempering HRC | 200 ℃: 56; Hardness after tempering HRC | 300 ℃: 52; Hardness after tempering HRC | 400 ℃: 48

Normalizing: at the normalizing temperature, and then cooling in the furnace
