1.2767 /X45NiCrMo4 is a higher carbon version of the standard 4¼% nickel air/oil hardening steel. 1.2767/ X45NiCrMo4 achieves a good hardness and is suitable for applications demanding extra wear resistance. 

 

1.2767 is a kind of Nickel cold work tool steel. Good hardenability and thougness. Ability for polishing, photoetching and erosion treatment. Application include forging tools, dies of all sort, shapes and sizes, hot forging and pressing tools for steel and metal. Moulds, bushings, piercers, etc.


1.2767 is a higher carbon version of the standard 4.25% nickel oil hardening steel. It is a good quality tool steel that  achieves high impact and compressive strength and is suitable for applications demanding extra wear resistance. With its characteristics of good full hardenability, good polishability and excellent toughness this cold work tool steel specification is widely used for plastic mould applications.

Mechanical Properties  
The mechanical properties mainly include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, area or reduction, hardness, impact value, non-metalic inclusion etc. Different heat treatment, the mechanical properties will be different, such as annealed. Delivery Condition

EAF+(ESR) or EAF+LF+VD+(ESR), Hot rolled or Forged, Annealed, Hardness≤285HB, Black surface or Machined surface (Peeled, Turned, Grinded), UT 100% Passed


Annealing

610 to 650°C Slow controlled cooling in furnace at a rate of 10 to 20°C/hr down to approx. 600°C, further cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 285 HB. Stress relieving Approx. 650°C Slow cooling in furnace; intended to relieve stresses set up by extensive machining, or incomplex shapes. After through heating, hold in neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2 hours. Hardening 840 to 870°C Oil, salt bath (300 to 400°C), air. Holding time after temperature equalization: 15 to 30 minutes. Obtainable hardness: 53 - 57 HRC in air. 54 - 58 HRC in oil or salt bath. Tempering Slow heating to tempering temperature immediately after hardening/time in furnace 1 hour for each 20 mm of work piece thickness, but at least 2 hours/cooling in air. For average hardness figures to be obtained, please refer to the tempering chart. For certain cases we recommend to reduce tempering temperature and increase holding time.
