51CrV4 is a spring steel bar is suitable for produceing high-strength quenching and tempering springs.
51CrV4 Spring steel combines the characteristics of springs and has excellent wear resistance and impact resistance. Hardened 51CrV4/1.8159 spring steel has excellent toughness and impact resistance, making it an alloy spring steel suitable for parts subjected to stress, vibration, and impact.
51CrV4 (1.8159) spring steel has good mechanical and process properties, high hardenability, and the addition of vanadium refines the grain size of the steel, reduces overheating sensitivity, improves strength and toughness, and has high fatigue strength and yield ratio. However, it has poor weldability and low cold deformation plasticity.

Heat treatment specification: Quenched at 850 ℃± 20 ℃, oil cooled; Temper at 500 ℃± 50 ℃ (± 30 ℃ for special needs).
- Delivery status: Hot rolled steel is delivered in a heat treated or non heat treated state, while cold drawn steel is delivered in a heat treated state.
60Si2Mn and 51CrV4 are both spring steels with similar mechanical properties.
Mechanical properties of 60Si2Mn: σ S ≥ 1176Mpa, σ B ≥ 1274Mpa, δ S ≥ 5%, ψ≥ 25%
Mechanical properties of 51CrV4: σ S ≥ 1175Mpa, σ B ≥ 1500Mpa, δ S ≥ 6%, ψ≥ 40%, shear and torsion allowable stress ≥ 1050Mpa. The fatigue life reaches 3 million times; The allowable stress for shear and torsion is ≥ 1050Mpa.
The working temperature of 51CrV4 can reach 300 degrees Celsius, while 60Si2Mn only reaches 250 degrees Celsius. In addition, 60Si2Mn is mostly used in the manufacturing of leaf springs, worm coil springs, and springs with a wire diameter of 30mm or less, while 51CrV4 is mostly used in the manufacturing of springs with larger diameters.
*At present, the China-Europe Railway Express has planned three routes in the West and Middle East:
--West Passage. First, it leaves the country from the Alataw Pass (Khorgos) port in Xinjiang, connects with the Russian Siberian railway through Kazakhstan, and passes through Belarus, Poland, Germany, etc. to other European countries. The second is to leave the country from Khorgos (Alataw Pass) port and pass through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Türkiye and other countries to European countries; Or cross the Caspian Sea through Kazakhstan, enter Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bulgaria and other countries, and reach various European countries. --Middle channel. Exiting from the Erenhot Port in Inner Mongolia, it passes through Mongolia and is connected to the Siberian Railway in Russia, connecting to various European countries.
--East Passage. Exiting from the Manzhouli Port in Inner Mongolia (Suifenhe River in Heilongjiang Province) and connecting to the Siberian Railway in Russia, it connects to various European countries.*
