630 Stainless Steel VS 316 Steel

  • SUS630 Material Introduction:

SUS630 martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel. Low carbon content, its corrosion resistance and weldability are better than ordinary martensitic stainless steel. This steel has good acid resistance, good cutting ability, and simple heat treatment process. There is a tendency for embrittlement when used for a long time at temperatures above 400 degrees Celsius

  • SUS630 Material Usage:

SUS630 is suitable for making components with a working temperature below 400 degrees Celsius, requiring acid corrosion resistance and high strength; It is also suitable for producing plastic molds that require high performance and precision under the action of corrosive media.
The biggest difference between the two types of steel is that the microstructure of SUS630 and SUS316 is different, and the difference in mechanical properties is most easily reflected

news-652-379

630 stainless steel is a precipitated, quenched, martensitic stainless steel with high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance characteristics. After heat treatment, the mechanical properties of the product are further improved, reaching a compressive strength of up to 1100-1300 mpa (160-190 ksi). This grade cannot be used at temperatures above 300 ℃ (570F) or very low. It has good corrosion resistance to the atmosphere and diluted acids or salts, and its corrosion resistance is the same as 304 and 430.

316 stainless steel, 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo, due to the addition of Mo, has excellent corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance, and high-temperature strength, and can be used under harsh conditions; Excellent work hardening (non magnetic). Equipment used in seawater, chemical, dye, papermaking, oxalic acid, fertilizer and other production equipment; Photography, food industry, coastal facilities, ropes, CD poles, bolts, nuts. Chemical composition of 316 stainless steel: C ≤ 0.08, Si ≤ 1.00, Mn ≤ 2.00, P ≤ 0.035, S ≤ 0.03, Ni: 10.0-14.0, Cr: 16.0-18.5, Mo: 2.0-3.0. Mechanical properties of 316 stainless steel, tensile strength (Mpa) 620 MIN, yield strength (Mpa) 310 MIN, elongation (%) 30 MIN, area reduction (%) 40 MIN, density of 316 stainless steel 8.03 g/cm3.
