On February 18, our electroslag remelting (ESR) steel ingot production line achieved stable, continuous operation. Leveraging a comprehensive, precision-controlled smelting system, we have successfully realized the in-house production of high-quality DC53 ESR ingots. This enables us to supply high-purity, microstructurally uniform DC53 raw materials to domestic and international clients in the precision stamping and cold-forming mold sectors, further enhancing our supply capabilities for high-end cold-work mold steels.

Our plant employs a comprehensive process to produce DC53 steel ingots. During the ESR stage, the molten steel undergoes secondary refining, directional solidification within a water-cooled mold continuously refines carbides and significantly improves carbide distribution uniformity, resulting in a dense ingot structure free from shrinkage cavities or porosity defects.
electric arc furnace (EAF) primary melting
Melt raw materials,adjust composition and remove impurities to produce molten crude steel.Thereby complete the basic smelting process.
ladle furnace(LF) refining+vacuum degassing (VD)
Remove hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen from molten steel in a vacuum environment to reduce gas content.
Minimize porosity and white spot defects, and enhance steel toughness.
electroslag remelting (ESR)
Secondary refining removes non-metallic inclusions; directional solidification improves carbide segregation, resulting in a dense and uniform ingot microstructure that significantly enhances toughness and ultrasonic testing performance.
Adopting complete ESR secondary refining process, DC53 ingots feature ultra-high purity, fewer non-metallic inclusions, uniform carbide distribution and dense internal structure.
Compared with conventional EAF steel, ESR DC53 material delivers balanced hardness & toughness, lower heat treatment deformation, excellent wire-cutting and polishing performance. Service life increased by 25%-35%.We can supply various sizes of DC53 ESR ingots, further forged into round bars & flat plates.Our DC53 steel bars and plates are widely used for precision stamping dies, cold forming tools and cutting blades.
