On February 18, our electroslag remelting (ESR) steel ingot production line achieved stable, continuous operation. Leveraging a comprehensive, precision-controlled smelting system, we have successfully realized the in-house production of high-quality DC53 ESR ingots. This enables us to supply high-purity, microstructurally uniform DC53 raw materials to domestic and international clients in the precision stamping and cold-forming mold sectors, further enhancing our supply capabilities for high-end cold-work mold steels.

Our plant employs a comprehensive process to produce DC53 steel ingots. During the ESR stage, the molten steel undergoes secondary refining, directional solidification within a water-cooled mold continuously refines carbides and significantly improves carbide distribution uniformity, resulting in a dense ingot structure free from shrinkage cavities or porosity defects.

Secondary refining removes non-metallic inclusions; directional solidification improves carbide segregation, resulting in a dense and uniform ingot microstructure that significantly enhances toughness and ultrasonic testing performance.
