51CrV4 steel has good mechanical and process properties, high hardenability, and the addition of vanadium refines the grain size of the steel, reduces overheating sensitivity, and improves strength and toughness. Spring steel 51CrV4 has high fatigue strength and yield ratio, but poor weldability and low cold deformation plasticity.
51CrV4 is normally used as a high load spring with a larger cross-section, as well as a valve spring, piston spring, and safety valve spring with a working temperature of<300 ℃. 51CrV4 steel can also be used to manufacture standard parts such as rolled slotted cylindrical pins.
Chemical composition of 51CrV4:
Carbon C: 0.47~0.55
Silicon Si: ≤ 0.40
Manganese Mn: 0.70~1.10
Phosphorus P: ≤ 0.025
Sulfur S: ≤ 0.025
Chromium Cr: 0.90~1.20
Vanadium V: 0.10-0.25
