Product Introduction

S136 tool steel contains alloy elements such as chromium and molybdenum, which makes it have excellent corrosion resistance. It can work stably for a long time in a humid environment and in contact with corrosive substances, greatly extending the service life of the mold. After a special heat treatment process, S136 tool steel has excellent wear resistance, which can effectively reduce the wear of the mold during use and maintain the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the mold.
S136 tool steel has minimal deformation during the heat treatment process, which can ensure the dimensional stability of the mold and ensure that the mold maintains accurate shape and size during long-term use. The material has good cutting and polishing properties, and is easy to be processed into molds of various complex shapes. After polishing, it can obtain extremely high surface finish to meet the requirements of high-precision molds. It has good toughness and impact resistance, can withstand the impact load of the mold during work, and reduce the cracking and damage of the mold caused by force.

Common heat treatment processes for S136 mold steel include annealing, quenching and tempering.
1. Annealing: Heat to 780℃ under protection, then cool to 650℃ in the furnace at a rate of 10℃ per hour, and then cool in the air.
2. Quenching: Preheat at 600-650℃ first, the quenching temperature range is generally 1000-1050℃, and the commonly used temperature is 1020-1030℃. In order to avoid excessive stress and deformation, rapid cooling can be carried out by 80℃ hot oil, vacuum pressure quenching, etc. During quenching, attention should be paid to protection to prevent decarburization and oxidation. When cooled to 50℃, tempering should be carried out immediately.
3. Tempering: Temper at least twice, the appropriate tempering temperature is 250℃, and the holding time is at least two hours. The hardness after tempering is ≥52HRC.
It should be noted that the specific heat treatment process of S136 mold steel may vary depending on factors such as actual production needs, steel quality and equipment conditions. When performing heat treatment, the process parameters of each link should be strictly controlled to ensure that the mold steel can obtain the required performance and hardness.
In addition, the S136 mold steel produced by different manufacturers may have slight differences in composition, which will also affect the heat treatment process. Therefore, in actual operation, it is recommended to refer to the technical information provided by the material supplier or consult a professional heat treatment engineer to develop the most appropriate heat treatment plan.

1. Plastic molds: suitable for manufacturing molds for various plastic products, such as plastic parts molds in the electronics, automobile, home appliance and other industries.
2. Die-casting molds: used to manufacture die-casting molds such as aluminum alloys and zinc alloys, which can withstand the impact and corrosion of high-temperature molten metal.
3. Precision molds: such as precision molds in the optical instrument, medical device, clock and other industries, which have extremely high requirements for mold accuracy and surface quality. S136 tool steel can meet these requirements well.
