This combination provides ideal strength and toughness under high temperature and pressure, making it an efficient hot work tool steel.
The 1.2343 Steel Equivalent grade X37CrMoV5-1 material is suitable for manufacturing molds and cutting tools, and can be used in various molding processes, including injection molding, extrusion, and thin film blow molding. It can also be used to manufacture tools such as die-casting molds, extrusion molds, and hot plate molds. Compared with ordinary tool steel, 1.2343 steel has better wear resistance, longer lifespan, and higher hardness and strength.

Forging of 1.2343 Steel Equivalent Material X37crmov5-1
X37crmov5-1 steel are forged at 1121°C (2050°F). For this type of steels, forging below 899°C (1650°F) is not preferable.
1.2343 Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing
Anneal at 871°C and slow cool at 4.4°C per hour or less in the furnace.
Tempering
Temper at 537°C to 648°C for Rockwell C hardness of 54 to 38. Double tempering for one hour each time at the selected tempering temperature is recommended.
