Products Description
D2 steel is an air hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel. It has high wear and abrasion resistant properties. It is heat treatable and is machinable in the annealed condition. D2 steel shows little distortion on correct hardening. D2 steel's high chromium content gives it mild corrosion resisting properties in the hardened condition.
AISI D2 Tool steel is a type of die steel used to make cold dies, hot forging dies, die-casting dies and other dies. D2 hot rolled tool steel flat bars are the main processing tools for manufacturing parts in industrial sectors such as machinery manufacturing, radio instruments, motors, electrical appliances, etc.

D2 tool steel has Excellent toughness and suitable for bath nitriding. 1.2379/D2 hot rolled tool steel flat bar is used for making Cold extrusion tools, trimming, cutting and stamping tools for sheet thickness upto 6mm, precision cutting tools for sheet thickness up to 12.2 mm. Blaniking and punching tools, wood working tools, shear blades for cutting light gauge material, thread rolling dies , drawing, deep drawing, Pressure pads and highly wear-resistant plastic moulds.
