Products Description
SAE 4130 alloy steel is a medium carbon, low alloy steel in ASTM A29 standard. ASTM 4140 steel is also commonly referred to as a chromoly steel, or chrome moly steel, containing nominally 0.28-0.33% Carbon, 0.8-1.1% Chromium and 0.15-0.25% Molybdenum. It is similar to 4140 steel which has a higher carbon level (0.28-0.33%), giving 4130 material improved weldability, at the expense of through thickness strength. With the proper heat treatment it is also readily machined. Annealing ASTM 4130 alloy steel offers excellent ductility. Sichuan Huitai Special Metals Co.,Ltd supplied 4130 round bar stock are usually in annealed and q+t condition.

Chemical Composition
Heat treatment specification:
Quenched at 850 ℃, oil cooled; Temper at 550 ℃, water-cooled, oil-cooled.
Annealing : Anneal at 760 ± 10 ℃ and cool the furnace to 400 ℃ for air cooling.
Delivery status: Delivered in a heat treated (normalized, annealed, or high-temperature tempered) or non heat treated state.

Aisi 4130 round bar shall comply with the standard ASTMA29/A29M-04. It is usually used in a quenched and tempered condition. 4130 steel contains a lower carbon content than 4140 steel ,but it can also be used as carburized steel that requires higher core strength.
4130 round bar is mainly used in the medium-sized machinery manufacturing industry to manufacture quenched and tempered parts with large cross-sections that work under high stress conditions, such as shafts, spindles, and control wheels, bolts, double headed bolts, gears, etc. under high loads. In the chemical industry, aisi 4130 steel is used to manufacture welding structures composed of welded parts, plates, and pipes, as well as high-pressure conduits operating in a medium containing nitrogen and hydrogen at a temperature not exceeding 250 ℃. The steam turbines and boilers, fasteners made of 4130 steel are used for working below 450 ℃, flanges and flange covers under high pressure at temperatures below 500 ℃ in the manufacturing industry.
Our 4130 round bar stock sizes are diameter 16mm - diameter 350mm,length 6000mm/bar. The other sizes can be customized as required.
