Products Description

1.6523 | 20NiCrMo2-2 is defined as a low-carbon alloy steel with 0.5% Cr, 0.2% Mo, and 0.5% Ni as strengthening alloying elements. Usually provided in the annealed state, with a hardness of HB255max. AISI 8620 exhibits good wear resistance and surface hardness HRC 60-63 after carburization, quenching, and tempering. Compared with grades 8615 and 8617, it has good core strength and toughness, ranging from 700 to 1100 MPa in typical tensile strength range, with small to medium cross-section.
Typical applications: cutter bar, pinion, bushing, camshaft, kingpin, ratchet, gear, spline shaft, etc.

Delivery condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.

Black surface
Forged sizes up to 500mm (-0/+5mm)
Forged sizes above 500mm in diameter (-0/+8mm)
Machined surface to all sizes (-0/+3mm)

Futhur heat treatment for SAE 8620H / SAE 8620 forged steel :
Normalized
Annealed
Q&T(Quenched&Tempered)

Quality control:
1. Melting Process: EAF/BOF+LF+VD resulting in ingots
2. Both ends cut by saw
3. Ratio of forging:minimum 3:1
4. Grain size of final product: according to ASTM E112 more than 5,preferred more than 8
5. Ultrasonic test: As per SEP1921 Class C/c or D/d
