X120Mn12, also known as Hadfield steel, was discovered by a British engineer, Mr. Hadfield, and is therefore named Hadfield manganese steel.
Impact resistant plate and wire X120MN12 (ASTM A-128) are used in the mining equipment and machinery manufacturing industry. X120MN12 is used for producing shot blasting machines, large jaw crushers, etc. X120MN12 has been in use in the US market for 20 years and has been accepted by most domestic and foreign customers. According to the deformation of surface crystal structure, X120MN12 manganese plate can be work hardening from HB170 to HB550. It can also thrive under severe wear and tear conditions. The more impacts and hammers it receives, the harder the surface becomes. This characteristic, called work hardening, together with the fact that it maintains ductility below, makes it the most effective steel against impact and wear.
